    How does gown hire work for virtual graduations?

    4. Complete payment
    5. Orders delivered at least 72 hrs before your virtual graduation date
    6. Instructional video ‘how to put on your graduation robes’ provided
    7. 10 days hire from date of delivery
    8. Returns using pre-paid DHL label and bag

    When do I need to order by?

    To ensure you receive robes in time orders need to be placed by:

    • 14th January 2021 for destinations beyond Europe
    • 1st February 2021 for destinations in Europe (exc. UK)
    • 8th February 2021 for destinations in the UK

    When will my order be dispatched?

    Orders for hired items will be dispatched to arrive at your chosen address at least 72 hrs before your virtual ceremony. 

    Orders for purchased items are dispatched based on availability and once the order is processed. For stocked items, orders are usually shipped within 48 hours when placed Monday - Thursday before 10am. Orders will not be processed until our next working day if placed after 10am on a Thursday. 

    All orders are dispatched and delivered using DHL Express and Parcelforce 48. 

    Our current working days are Monday - Thursday 9am - 4pm

    Will you deliver outside of the UK?

    For the University of Plymouth virtual graduation, we can offer both hire and purchase outside of the UK. The shipping zones available to order online are outlined below. For countries outside of these zones please complete our 'beyond Europe' order form
      • Zone 0 - UK
      • Zone 1 - Belgium, France, Germany, Guernsey, Ireland, Republic Of, Jersey, Luxembourg, Netherlands
      • Zone 2 - Austria, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden
      • Zone 3 - Andorra, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, The Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia

    How much does delivery cost?

    For hired garments the cost includes a pre-paid returns label

    • Zone 0 Cost: £0
    • Zone 1  Cost: £38
    • Zone 2 Cost: £48
    • Zone 3 Cost: £50

    For purchased garments, shipping is slightly less

    • Zone 0 Cost: £0
    • Zone 1  Cost: £21
    • Zone 2 Cost: £24
    • Zone 3 Cost: £26

    How do I return my robes?

    Hired items are based on a 10-day  hire agreement* (this is only for the University of Plymouth Virtual Graduation event)

    Hired items must be returned to J. Wippell & Co. Ltd, PO Box 1, 88 Buller Road, Exeter, Devon EX4 1DQ

    A pre-paid returns label and bag will be provided for hired items.

    The returns will be via DHL or Parcelforce. A returns label will be provided in your package.

    What are the hire terms?

    For all hired items you understand and agree to the following hire agreement.
    There is no extra charge in addition to the hire fee on the basis that:

    • The hire cost is for the price of hire only. The price does not include a deposit
    • All hired garments must not be taken out of the country it was delivered to
    • All items hired are returned 10 days from delivery
    • Items are returned clean and free of damage
    • Postage costs are included/quoted. Pre-paid returns labels will be provided
    • Proof of postage must be gained and retained
    I understand that if the above is not adhered to, I am responsible for the full purchase cost of the hired items (minus the hire cost), which can be up to £600. The purchase cost of the items will be provided upon request.
    Unarranged late/overdue returns could incur a penalty charge.

     

    Non returned garments or garments lost or damaged whilst in your possession shall be liable for the full retail price (less hire cost) which will be payable to J. Wippell & Co. Ltd.
    Extended hire can be provided at an additional charge.
    Hired items are non –refundable.

    Liability

    The organisation is not liable to you for any loss suffered arising out of your use of the facility. You release J. Wippell & Co. Ltd from any claim made against us arising out of, in connection with or caused by your use of the facility.
    You indemnify the organisation from and against all claims, demands, actions, costs and expenses arising out of, in connection with or caused by your use of the facility.
